Here at Hooves and Paws we pride ourselves in caring about our clients. We are proud to have monthly drawings for pets of the week, and pets of the month. We also have a Pet of the Year that is picked every year in January! Every pet who has had at least 1 session that entire year has a chance at winning pet of the year!
How do we choose who becomes Pet of the Month/Week?
We simply pick by putting all the names of the pets who had a session that week and/or month into a wheel of names. The names are randomly picked, and we keep it fair by only allowing a pet to win 1 time for both Pet of the Week and Pet of the Month until everyone has been picked.
What do pets of the week receive?
When a pet wins either pet of the week or pet of the month, they receive a bag with 2-3 bags of treats in it. These treats are our homemade treats. We also will publish the following month a brochure with their photos in it, and they will have a flavor of treat named after them, and that treat will be on our menu for the following month. All pets are also announced here with a flyer, and Facebook post.
PET OF THE YEAR
TESLA
Breed: Pitbull Mix
Age: 10 Years Old
Why Tesla receives PEMF: Severe Arthritis, Anxiety, Depression
Oh Tesla! Tesla is probably one of our FAVORITE clients. Even though we don't work on her as often as we should, we still love her to pieces. Tesla is your big scary Pitbull! Just kidding!!! She is probably one of the sweetest dogs we have ever worked on. Tesla is so sweet that she lives with 4 small dogs, and a cat. She is literally a poster child for a typical Pitbull! Sweet, friendly, loves kids, and loves dogs.
For Tesla her MagnaWave sessions are extremely important, as she is dealing with some pretty severe arthritis. She also has some pretty severe anxiety from her previous life where she was used as a breeding dog and pretty much tortured constantly to have puppies. We help Tesla alleviate the pain and provide her with a way to reduce the pain by using electromagnetic fields. We use electromagnetic energy waves to create an electromagnetic field around a targeted area of tissue, which in Tesla's case is pretty much her entire body. We also help her by just showing her extra love and attention to help with the depression. She is very much loved by us.
All of these issues and poor Tesla can barely see and hear. She is just struggling all over. We love her though no matter what. Unfortunately with Tesla's arthritis being pretty severe we cannot cure it, but we can try and reduce the pain and inflammation while trying to increase her mobility. We cannot bring back her eyesight or hearing but we can try and keep her comfortable for the remainder of her.

PET OF THE MONTH - MARCH
mace
Breed: English Bull Dog
Age: 8 Years Old
Why Mace receives PEMF Arthritis, Hip Pain
Macey boy! Mace is your big handsome English Bull Dog. When I mean big, I mean big! He is ALL muscle. Even with his size though he is the biggest baby! You can pull into the driveway, and he is outside, and he just continues to sit outside and stare at you. He is super sweet, but also super impatient. Mace is not the biggest fan of his therapy sessions, as he doesn't see why he has to lay down and sit still for 20 minutes, only if there is food involved.
What Mace don't realize is that his MagnaWave sessions are pretty important for him. He is getting older for a larger dog, and with age comes arthritis and soreness. We help Mace by using Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields Therapy (PEMF). We use electromagnetic energy waves to create an electromagnetic field around a targeted area of tissue, which in this case is Mace's hips and sometimes his front paws. One thing about us at Hooves and Paws, is that we do NOT just work on 1 single area, we move the coils around every 5-6 minutes, not only to prevent the muscles from getting sore but to give attention to areas that you the owner might not realize need it. This is the case for Mace, or any dog with hip pain, we like to work on the front end as well because they will put more weight on the legs that are not sore, causing them to eventually become sore as well.
Even though Mace is not the biggest fan of his sessions what he doesn't realize is that it is helping him by increasing blood flow by enhancing circulation and allowing it to promote recovery and reduce pain and inflammation. We are also giving support to Mace's active cartilage cells; we are helping produce more cartilage which happens overtime. Even though we unfortunately cannot cure arthritis, we can help Mace by being comfortable for the remainder of his life.
PET OF THE WEEK - MARCH 30 - April 6
Ellie
Breed: Beagle / Bull Dog
Age: 12 Years old
Why PEMF? Arthritis
Ellie!! My Ellie girl!! Ellie is your big out stubborn 12-year-old beagle/bulldog mix. When I mean stubborn, I mean stubborn. Ellie is not the biggest fan of her MagnaWave treatments, as she does not like to sit still that long but she has improved over the years. Ellie has sweet and precious personality; she brings joy to everyone around her. Though she can be a bit stubborn at times, her love for peanut butter always wins us over. Get ready to fall in love with Ellie
Even with all this sweetness and preciousness, Ellie is slightly overweight (don't tell her this) so unfortunately, she struggles with some slight arthritis. MagnaWave therapy offers a promising solution for those dealing with arthritis. We use a pulsed electromagnetic field, that is an innovative therapy that helps alleviate her pain, reduce inflammation and improve circulation in affected joints. We use regular appointments to help Ellie manage her arthritis, which can allow her to be active, and life a fulfilling lifestyle. .
Behind those bright eyes is a loyal companion one who is fills your life with love and joy no matter who you are. Even as her therapist I always feel loved and wanted. She is such a snuggly friend who loves people, loves giving kisses and she is the perfect little dog. PEMF therapy is a valuable part of Ellie's arthritis management plan, helping her to live a more comfortable and active life.
